  1. When purchasing a business travel insurance policy through businesstravelinsurance.ie you will not receive advice or a recommendation from us for travel insurance. We may ask some questions to narrow down the selection of products that we will provide details on, but you will need to make your own choice as to whether to proceed and purchase the product. We can provide an insurance quotation/policy based on the following terms and conditions:

  2. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING MEDICAL CONDITIONS

  3. Underwriters have deemed the following as not covered under the terms and conditions of this policy.

  4. Any expenses incurred where a Journey is undertaken against the advice of a Qualified Medical Practitioner or where the purpose of the Journey is to receive medical treatment or advice.

  5. any expenses which are recovered from any national insurance programme which is applicable to the Insured Person.

  6. any expenses incurred twelve months after:

    1. repatriation to the Republic of Ireland in respect of expenses of on-going medical treatment as an In-patient; or

    2. the time of the incurring of the first expense in respect of other expenses.

  7. the amount of the Excess shown in the Schedule of Benefits

  8. treatment which in any way arises from or is attributable to any Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection or related syndrome unless it can be proved to the reasonable satisfaction of Underwriters and their medical advisors that this was contracted as a result of a blood transfusion or other medical treatment received for an unrelated injury or illness whilst on a Journey.

  9. any expenses in excess of GBP50,000 incurred as the result of treatment to a Child who has been born outside the United Kingdom during a Journey:

    1. while such Child is under the age of six months; or

    2. unless, on the attaining of the age of six months, the Child has been declared healthy by a Qualified Medical Practitioner.

  10. any expenses incurred by an Insured Person aged seventy five years or over whilst on a Journey in excess of thirty days duration.

  11. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING GENERAL EXCLUSIONS

  12. Underwriters shall not be liable for payment of any benefit for Bodily Injury, loss or expense suffered or incurred by an Insured Person aged seventy five or over whilst on a Journey of more than thirty days duration; or

  13. Underwriters shall not be liable for Bodily Injury, loss, damage or expense resulting from or contributed to by, directly or indirectly:

    1. the Insured Person committing or attempting to commit suicide or intentionally inflicting self injury.

    2. the Insured Person engaging in aviation as a pilot or crew member of an aircraft or other aerial device.

    3. the Insured Person being a full time member of the armed forces of any nation or international authority or a member of any Reserve Forces called out for Permanent Service.

    4. War, whether declared or not in the Insured Person’s Country of Domicile

    5. the Insured Person travelling to any country which is or whose armed forces are engaged in War within its own borders where that part of a Journey commences after the outbreak of such War.

    PLEASE NOTE that Specific Exclusions relating to individual Sections or sub-sections of the Policy are located and contained in the policy wording available on this site. It is strongly recommended that you read this document before purchasing the insurance.

  14. Policies must be cancelled within the 14 Day cooling off period, whereby you may return the documentation to us and upon receipt of the policy, provided the insured has not travelled or is making a claim, we will refund you your Insurance Premium. Please note that the Premium Refund Guarantee does not extend to administration or postage fees incurred in the supply your original policy

  15. Unless stated otherwise quotations provided by the system for new insurances are valid for 7 days from date of issue.

  16. Businesstravelinsurance.ie offer a Premium Refund Guarantee on all our web booked policies.


    Annual policy holders – automatic renewal service

  17. To make sure you have continuous cover under your policy, we will aim to automatically renew (auto-renew) your policy when it runs out, unless you tell us not to. Each year we will notify you 31 days before the renewal date of your policy, and tell you about any changes to the premium or the policy terms and conditions.

    If you do not want to us to auto-renew your policy, just call us on 0818 44 44 49. Otherwise we will collect the renewal premiums from your credit card or debit card.

    You should also note that your renewed policy will only be valid when:

    1. you have told us about any changes to your policy details
    2. and your credit card or debit card details have not changed

    In some cases we may not be able to automatically renew your policy, we will let you know at the time if this is the case. For the facilitation of the auto renewal service we are entitled to assume that your details have not changed and you have the permission of the card holder unless you inform us otherwise.
